How our volunteers help

Crew Leaders

The crew leaders are the people who run the show at individual YES sites. They generally stay for the entirety of the project. Crew leaders help teens complete the tasks assigned and, oftentimes, help teach students the skills they need to complete: simple painting, lawn, or carpentry projects. These volunteers can leave at the end of the work day (4 p.m.), or stick around for the evening activities as well. Anyone 18 years old (and graduated from high school) or older can be a crew leader.

Night Watch

These volunteers are with us during the overnight hours.  They sign up for shifts on certain nights (Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday night) and help make sure everyone is safe and remains on the campus of our host parish.

Food Help

Food volunteers are the people who donate and prepare meals for the YES Project. We generally have a person in charge of organizing this aspect of the YES Project but are always looking for people to volunteer to donate or prepare various meals.  If you and a group of people think you may be interested in a donation or in preparing a meal for us please email us at toledoyesproject@gmail.com.

VIRTUS

All adult volunteers must complete a background check and the protecting youth course through VIRTUS. If you need to update your status, detailed instructions can be found here.
